A wonderfully involving 52 episode TV series. FY tells the story of a junior-high girl who is transported into a strange world. Miaka must find the seven protectors of Konan country who can together save Konan from a devistating war. Excellent character development and highly addictive. This series was my introduction to anime proper.

Tylor, through a strange twist of fate, becomes a spaceship captain after joining the United Planets Space Force to get a place to crash and some free meals. This new commercial release from The Right Stuff International is a light-hearted comedy on how seriously to take life in the future.

One of the rare anime series that does not include space adventures, short sailor fukus, or alternate dimensions. Greenwood has an odd quartet of high school students living in a crazy dorm. Full of off-beat humor. Just a little gender-bending, and a great romantic subplot.

Available from Tomodachi Anime (Fushigi Yuugi's original fansubber), this is a largely unknown example of a "magical girl" series aimed at a younn audience. If you can survive the sugary-sweet early episodes, Himeko's adventures with a ribbon that can make her appear to be anyone reveal a suprising depth to her charater.
