Hong's Comment : Currently The Best Animation Production. It has been praised by a lot of fans for its quality of drawings and animatings, which is almost the quality of movie animes and its extraordinary ability to reinterpret the original works.

Before 2003, Kyoto Anime was just a sub-production company. In 2003, they debut as a major production by 'Full Metal Panic Fumotfu', and it was quite noticed by fans.

When it produced 'AIR' in 2005, Kyoto Anime was praised by many fans, because of its unbelievable quality of picture. There were some humorous rumor that the staffs of Kyoto Anime sold their houses to produce this quality of anime. As such, AIR raised quite a sensation to anime fans. Also, at the similar time, the Movie anime of 'AIR the Movie' by TOEI Animation, which is famous for 'Sailor Moon' series, has came out. However, 'AIR' TV version by Kyoto Anime shows overwhelming quality in both picture and storytelling, many fan raised Kyoto Anime's hand in this match. This is so-called 'Kyoto VS TOEI the first Match'.

The next production, 'Full Metal Panic The Second Raid'(TSR) was also got a good assessment. It was compared with the first season which was produced by GONZO, and most of the fans prefers TSR for its better quality in drawings.

In 2006, Kyoto becomes the best anime production ever by raising 'Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi' which raised a 'world-wide' sensation among anime fans. The Dance in the ED, which the staffs danced by themselves to draw the animation, was remaked in many versions. It's interesting storytelling way, which mixes the timeline, well depicts the characteristic of original novel.

In winter of 2006, Kyoto produced 'Kanon remake', and this anime, along with 'AIR', is assessed as the most successful case of making anime based on Girl Games. In this anime, Kyoto is noticed not only its fantastic animating technology, but also its outstanding ability to reinterpret the original work. This anime was compared with TOEI's 'Kanon' which were produced and most of the fans likes Kyoto's remake version. Some people call this 'Kyoto VS TOEI the second match' and some people don't, because these two versions are produced in totally different time.

The best sensational anime of 2007 is certainly 'Lucky☆Star'. Its OP animation called much more sensation than 'Suzumiya Haruhi' did. The OP Single was once in the second place of 'Oricon Daily Chart'(In case of ED of Suzumiya Haruhi, 4th place was the highest.). Along with the depiction of school day life of 10 characters with full of individualities, this anime contains lots of parodies on Kyoto anime's productions and Kadokawa Shouten(the main sponsor of this anime) related works.

Now, Kyoto has started to broadcast 'CLANNAD' another Girl Game based anime. Actually, 'AIR', 'Kanon', 'CLANNAD' are the games produced by KEY, which is famous for its touching text. 'AIR' was the first case of girl game that emphasized on story not on the adult materials; 'AIR' is one of major works that changed the whole paradigm of girl game. And staffs of Kyoto are well known as a great fan of KEY's games. This may be the reason why they produce so high quality animes based on these games. Many people expecting the same or better quality than 'AIR' or 'Kanon remake'.

In addition, CLANNAD is the topic of 'Kyoto VS TOEI the third(or the second) match'. Kyoto producing CLANNAD TV version and TOEI opened the Movie anime of CLANNAD last September. Still, in the aspect of quality of picture, TOEI has failed to catch up Kyoto. However, TOEI has been quite good at story-telling, which is rejected by fan of original game because it was too much different from the original(Kyoto also takes quite different storyline, but its outstanding ability of reinterpretation attracts the fan of original games.), so we have to notice how well Kyoto depicts the story of CLANNAD which is quite complicated.

Also, Kyoto's next plan after producing 'CLANNAD' is the second season of Suzumiya Haruhi. They already announced this.
